  I have spent my childhood in the Railway Quarters of Sitarampur close to the station, opposite RPF Police barrack. There are four quarters in a row. There was wide open space in front of the quarters on the station road. Babulal's taxi a box type old black Ford used to ply from Sitarampur to Neamatpur and back on regular basis. It had to be started with an angled rod everytime it initiated its journey to and fro. It was a very quiet and simple life, but very happy and peaceful at that time. I was a student of Railway Vidyapith Primary School founded in 1954,situated by the side of Railway track and close to Rly Health Centre. Nagendranath Saha of Nabadwip(Nadia)was our Headmaster. Rabin Chanda, Boka Baba, Keshab Ranjan Seal, Tapas Chatterjee were my classmates. I remember Anil Gupta, Patalda, Sushil Mitra, Ajoy Mitra (Pata), Ashok, Rabu Mitra et al. How I wish to meet my childhood friends. I do not know where and howthey are now.
