A town of considerable historical significance, Tappal, sometimes spelt Tapal, lies in the north-western part of Aligarh District. This town, close to the border of Faridabad District in Haryana, is about 52 km from Faridabad, 60 km from Aligarh and 75 km from Delhi.
Tappal has some monuments of historical importance. Among these, a monument near the old fort and a tomb of Thomson Simpson, which are under the purview of the Directorate of Archeology, Uttar Pradesh, are the most significant.

    I belong to this historical town Tappal. After retirement from UP Irrigation Deptt I am settled at Ghaziabad.I was a student of J K inter College Tappal from 1967 to 1962.It was never spelt as Tapal but among uneducated people it was spoken as Tapar. In olden days it was famous for "GAPPAL" sweat.

    I studied in J K Inter college from 1957 to 1962 ( from class 6th to 10th)Earlier There was no road from Tappal to Jewar. Earthen road was completed in year 1961 and Kankar was laid on earthen road in 1962. We are 4 brothers. all educated from J K Inter College. We, all the 4 brothers have been topper in our classes. My elder brother Sri Jagan Lal Gupta, retired from Railway Deptt, is now a very prestigious and leading businessman in Ghaziabad.His Show room name appears in LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS and is heading towards entry in GUINEESE BOOK. My younger brother Dr Lala Ram Gupta M.Sc. Ph.D, retired as Director, is now settled in Ghaziabad. My youngest brother Er Jai Prakash Bansal BE ME is a Senior Executive Engineer in U P Irrigation Deptt.We all the brothers are proud of being student of J K Inter College.My father Late Sri Ramji Lal belonged to Sarol but relocted in Tappal before independence.He was having flourishing business in Tappal.

It is quite shocking that the development works in Tappal like Township etc have been held up and have fallen prey to politics. the politicians must change their attitude and must have foresighted vision.     Hi all, I was born and brought up in Tappal. Studied in JKIC from 1984 to 1990. My father, Late Shri Vishan Swaroop Gupta (fondly known as Vandhuji), was the Principal of the college during 1994 to 1998. We all brothers and sister were born, brought up, studied and got married there. We all have very fond memories of village and cherish the moments, we spent there.Today, I am well settled in Ghaziabad. We still have a house and many wellwishers there and visit them regularly.     My mother was born in Tappal in 1936. Her sister was married to Mr Mirza Bashir Baig ,Past Master in Post Office district (khair ?) and lived there . I believe they were large family and their children still living there. I was told they were living near a Holly Shrine ! Which was visited by all ,regardless of their faith. Some names I can remember are Naseer Baig, Kabir Baig, if anyone have any information please reply here...
