Two privately owned islands in Western Casco Bay. The anchorage to NE of the Goslings and SE of Lower Goose Island is now filled with moorings and is a favorite of Casco Bay recreational boaters during the summer. Although the Goslings are private, the Owner allows exploring the islands and camping in designated areas. No fires are allowed above the high tide line.

LL Bean uses the outer Gosling as a campsite for their overnight kayaking trips.

  • These islands are now owned by Maine Coast Heritage Trust, who owns and manages them for public use and enjoyment. West Gosling's group campground may be reserved for group use, and the individual island camp sites are available on a first come, first served basis. The community really came together to raise money to purchase these islands and keep them available for public use and enjoyment, guided by the wonderful work of Maine Coast Heritage Trust. They, together with Brunswick Topsham Land Trust and Harpswell Heritage Land Trust, are building a system of extraordinary preserves for people to visit in northern Casco Bay.
