The 62.5 hectare site contains several pools caused by mining subsidence and is situated on the Coventry Canal.
Pooley Fields Nature Reserve as a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest SSSI covers 26 hectares of this site and is leased by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust from Warwickshire County Council.
The site was open farmland until it was affected by coal mining from the nearby Pooley Hall colliery.
Pooley Fields has a wonderful range of habitats including open water, marsh and wet woodland as well as grassland and birch woodland on the drier areas.
