The recently completed University Hall is the new headquarters of NUS. Located at Lower Kent Ridge Road, this seven-storey complex comprises of two key components, namely the Lee Kong Chian Wing and the Tan Chin Tuan Wing. This complex is a showcase landmark for the 2005 NUS Centennial Celebration.

The new Complex was conceived on the basis that the two wings are visually and formally linked. Designed to be architecturally inspiring and innovative, the two wings interlock and connect together at the second level via a glass linear bridge which also functions as an interaction space. Spatially, the new complex will have maximum transparency and views with daylight penetration through skylights and clear glazed curtain walls, giving a predominantly light, airy and lofty feeling.

There are important facilities such as the Vista, dining hall, auditorium, ceremonial and exhibition areas and galleries for staff, alumni and stakeholders to meet and interact. The Vista and associated facilities will be used for hosting important visitors and University functions.

As a whole, the design of the building aims to create a casual yet dignified environment conducive for interaction, communication and exchange of ideas in a spirit of openness and spontaneity. It is a building not only for the present but also for the future, as we forge ahead to make NUS a leading University of the 21st Century.
