Chapel of St. Boris and Gleb on Arbat Square (Moscow)

Russia / Moscow / Moscow / Arbatskaya ploshchad, 4
 chapel, 1997_construction, Russian Orthodox Church

Built in 1997 and consecrated the same year.

Constructed on the site of the earlier Church of St. Boris and Gleb that probably dated from 1483. The Church was rebuilt several times, most notably by K. Blank in 1763-1767. The church was spared during the fires of 1812, but it did not survive Sovet Times and was destroyed in 1930.

The shape of the current chapel is intended to mimic Blank's late 18th century design.
