Lake Phalen is a gem in the city of St. Paul. 1.25 miles long and .2 miles wide, with a sandy beach, and year-round fishing, it serves as a source of recreation for the Phalen neighborhood. The lake is also the home race course for the University of Minnesota Women's Rowing Team and was the site for the 2006 Big-10 Rowing Championship and other major rowing regattas.
