Elizabeth Traditional is a magnet school dedicated to maintaining high standards for academic performance in a structured learning environment. The school has been recognized as a N.C. School of Excellence since 2001. The curriculum is enriched by a strong emphasis on creativity, the cultural arts and technology. Special programs include hands-on science lab in every grade and Odyssey of the Mind.
Elizabeth Traditional achieved Exemplary Growth status under the 1997-98 N.C. ABCs program and received the 1997-98 Acorn Award for 100 percent PTA membership.
