School land owned by Puerto Cortes Rotary. In conjunctiion with the East Chapel Hill Rotary from North Carolina USA, a new school was completed in 2009 with funding from Rotary and private individuals. The City of Puerto Cortes constructed a preschool on the site which was completed in 2008. The facilities are now VASTLY improved with running water, bathrooms and numerous classrooms. In addition to serving the local community as a primary school, it hopefully will soon have a trade school during the summer months, a free medical clinic on Saturdays, church on Sundays, and will provide for both a local meeting place and storm shelter.
