Reinig Bridge

USA / Washington / Snoqualmie /
interesting place, bridge, movie / film / TV location

This bridge over the Snoqualmie River was built as part of a branch line of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad ("The Milwaukee Road"). It is now part of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, a King County facility. The bridge is sometimes called "Reinig Bridge" (after the road at its north end, over which it used to cross) or "Ronnette's Bridge" (after a character in the television series "Twin Peaks").

The bridge used to extend via a trestle over Reinig Road, but that portion was removed in the 1990s. When the former railroad right-of-way was converted into a trail, a stairway was added to provide pedestrian access from Reinig Road to the trail. An arson fire on May 28, 2014 damaged the stairway. On March 5, 2015, the starirway was gone and the trail was fenced at the north end of the bridge, rendering this section of the trail a dead end from the Mt. Si Golf Course to the southeast.

The bridge was one of several North-Bend-area filming locations for "Twin Peaks."
