New Wardour Castle was built in the Palladian style in 1776 – and was the seat of the Arundells until 1944, when it was sold by the family after the death of the last Lord Arundell (who was a prisoner of war in Colditz Castle).
It has since been used as a school; but is now converted into luxury apartments.
