This 17th century house is encased in stone by Charles Barry - architect of the Houses of Parliament. The much altered house contains outstanding collection of Old Master paintings, with works by Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel. Also of worthy note is the Spanish Room, with walls hung in magnificent gilded leather.
Externally, the beautiful wooded parkland blooms with magnificent snowdrop displays in early spring. Owned by the National Trust. Open to the public.
