  • SGT Wyatt Alsbury. I was stationed at Ray Barracks from 10/1997 to 11/2000. I spent time as a Combat Medic for 1/36 Mech Infantry of the 1st AD. I loved being stationed in Friedberg. It was a great city with a couple fo good night clubs, as well as a few good places to eat.-ut The one I will always miss was Kim-Phat's chinese take-out. It was located down by the Bahnhoff. It was a hole-in-the-wall take-out where the egg rolls were the size of 2 Hostess Fruit Pies stacked on top of each other. Butzbach housing was nice..if you didn't mind looking into the prison yard next door..very strange. I was also stationed in Heidleberg at the hospital from 06/2006 to 08/2009. We loved it there as well. The local food ws to die for...especially Mandy's American Diner, and the Gasthuas pub and restaurant located right outside our housing village in Eppelheim. All in all, I would say that my wife and I are planning on taking a trip back over there after all the kids have moved out.
