The closest place of worship for visitors to Walt Disney World.

The ministry was founded by Fr. Joseph Harte in 1975. The shrine was completed and dedicated in August 1993.

The shrine has beautiful stained glass windows and a unique cross above the altar. It has wonderful works of art too. There is a sculpture depicting the young Lord Jesus helping his father - the carpenter St. Joseph. It captures a very poignant moment - of both togetherness and separation. Togetherness where Jesus and Joseph are working and separation in all the nails strewn around - a reminder of Jesus' future association with them on the cross.

The most amazing part of all is that this is not a parish. This is a church built and maintained solely on the donations of the tourists who visit Disney and, of course, to a smaller extent, the local people.

A truly wonderful church.
