Praemonstratensian monastery was founded in 1190 by Prince Conrad Otto. A huge monastery complex was an important center of life in South Moravia. In 1784 was monumental Barocco monastery abolished in the reforms of Joseph II. and served during 200 years as a military barracks and was dilapidated. Recently acquired part of the monastery to lease Znovín wine company, which, together with the town of Znojmo, pursuing the progressive enhancement of important monument.
