Bellport/Bartlett LIRR Station (former)

Location of the former Bellport, then Bartlett('s) Station stop on the LIRR main line. Opened c.1844, the station was named Bellport due to it's stagecoach connection down Bellport (Station) Road into Bellport Village. The current Bellport station on the Montauk Branch was opened in 1882. Name of this stop was changed around this time to Bartlett, after NYS Court of Appeals Justice Willard Bartlett, whose father had purchased a farm in Brookhaven, then an estate of over 1000-acres. The stop was a private flag-stop, which eventually was closed.
