Bequeathed to the city of Pittsburgh by the Mellon family estate, this small park adjoins Shadyside and Squirrel Hill and contains within its borders the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts -- a first-class exhibit and educational facility -- and the Pittsburgh Garden Center with its floral symposiums. Recently, the park hosted a site-specific art installation using its own shrubbery and green spaces, and the fenced area adjacent to Beechwood Boulevard has always been a prime spot for pickup games of football or ultimate frisbee.
