During 70's compele management was under Dr. Rajkumar (Correspondant) and the Principal was Mr. Xavier (very strict).
All teachers were very nice.

  • St.John's school, Mandaveli. The CBSE complex, with the Matriculation building close by. I am an alumnus and have wonderful memories of this school. Situated very close to the Mandaveli bus depot.

  • i was studying there from u.k.g to 6th .i miss that school very much. now i am in 9th in erode and when i go to my school i think st.john's is the best school. if i get a chance to join again i will be very happy ...i really miss the school,the church, the principal ms. nalini wilson ,the teachers (suriapraba mam),my friends,the canteen,etc....many more...it was the most wonderful moments of my life.my dream is to join again. i wish let my dreams come true...thanks a lot ....
  • St.John's senior secondary school and junior college is the best! Never can c a school like that! Nalini Wilson mam is the best! She has inspired me a lot in many many ways. perfect administration. wonderful discipline. was the head boy there for the year 2008-2009. can never forget St.John's by the Grace of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
  • An wonderful school under principal xavier. I finished my 10th standard in 1995 and joined another school for further studies. The school was known for its discipline and than only the studies.Even the studies were good and school is always the topper among other CBSE schools in Chennai.

  • Ilove my school.Mr.Xavier was a wonderful person.I learnt a lot from him and from my tamil sir Mr vasagar sir who would encourage us in studies. I can never forget all my teachers specialy williams sir, Ratnam sir, Mirnda sir, Daisy mam, such wonderful teachers I would like to thank them for moulding me a good person. Thank you teachersand my special thanks to Mr Xavier.

  • the school is the best and always will stand the best for its discipline but education wise it can improve as the teachers of the school are not paid so well the school's best teachers leave and go to differet schools.

Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, Mrs. Lolly Christopher, Mr. Krishnan, Mr. Azhagapan & Rhyme miss (sorry I don’t know her name)…Special thanks to my Band Master Mr. Venkateshan Sir… I don’t know how many of you were under Mrs. Chandra she was my class teacher for two consecutive years.. so now you guys feel pity for me and for the whole class. hahaha. well jokes apart all the teachers even the teacher who were very strict and also very lenient teachers like Mr. Ramasubbu, Mrs. Eliamma….lol…just tried on their own ways to shape us up.. we are now in this level becoz each one of them did their job… So guys.. No Complaints & All is well..
  • certainly even I have heard St. john's Mandavelli is very good and similarly St. johns international is also a lovely school run by that group . But must say st. johns in Besant Nagar is really hopeless. I have put my child there and suffering. All teachers leaving so quickly, in the last one year my son has had 4 teachers taking one subject!!!!! I think they are paying their teachers very poorly. I want to shift my child to St. johns Mandavelli, any idea if applications are issued for class 10. Is it possible to get admission! please can someone help me with information

  • I worked as a teacher(1983-1988).Sweet memories of my students and my close friends .I am still in touch with my colleague friends.one of my student's dad penned an appreciation letter once I resigned.I am still keeping it...My student Ms Anita (The correspondent's daughter)(i taught 6 th std ) is now the principal of besant nagar branch.r.I am so proud of her.I wish any one of my old students should see this comment and try to contact me....

  • Please parents be very cautious. One of the worst schools in Chennai which is affiliated to CBSE syllabus. Please do not spoil ur kids future. Teachers are ill-mannered, ill-behaved...one of the worstest schools in chennai is St. Johns, mandaveli I am talking about CBSE. I do not know anything about matriculation.

  • Hello I was the student of ST Johns from LKG TO 10TH. I simply love the school. The base they created for us in learning is still useful. I could feel that in my every day life. I miss all my teachers, especially Ramasubbu and Joyce miss. Those days were the best part of my life. wish they could come back. Hello miss Guna , You were my teacher in 5th std during the year 1987. I remember ur favorite student was Anusha devi. My hearty regards to Xavier and lolly miss.
  • I did my primary schooling (L.K.G - 83 to 5th std - 89) there. Had lot of fun. Enjoyed every bit of it. I remember the days where we used to have our P.E.T session (2 periods) at the ground near the school which used to take 10mins to walk. Going to and fro from the school to the ground was lotta fun! My mum used to work there as a P.E.T teacher when I was doing my L.K.G and so all the staff used to know me and I was so naughty in the class that I used to be sent to the head mistress room very often during my U.K.G and 1st std. Puts a smile on my face when I remember those days when I was studying at this school.

  • One of the worst school now in chennai. Always threatening parents and students. Today also more than 100 parents are standing outside the school. Lots of police also there. always threatening students and parents. If parent ask's any questions then they will say pay 5000 rupees and get the tc and you can go. Now the education is also not good. There is no proper results in 10th and 12th also. very very very very worst.
  • Yes its one of the worst school now. Once the management is changed. It seems they are threatening parents and students. You cannot meet the class teacher or principle. To make money they are conducting shift education to students. There is no school which has shift education in the world. TN / Indian government should look into this. No worth for paying fees for kids for studying in this school.

  • it was a good and reputed school when i joined ,,,,but when new school were opened mrs.nalini wilson wasnt able to concentrate on the main school the sr sec..no matter how many coordinators or teachers are placed it will never be equal to direct principal's administration

  • This is the only school that is providing afternoon shift school. It is a boon for the parents who are working in the afternoon shift or evening shift. This helps them spend some quality time with their children during week days.

My best memories in this school was that i feel in love with a beautiful girl her name was "Anita Agarwal" and almost 33 yrs now but still miss her, i wish if i could go back in times and see her one more time before i die.
