The former summer residence of the Bishop of Csanád, an Empire structure was built in 1826. With its Dorian columns the chapel was commissioned by Bishop László Kőszeghy who lived at Timisoara/Temesvár.

The pleasant impression of this elongated building typical of the Great Plain Classical style is enhanced by the crown mouldings that cast interesting shadows, and the restrained cornice and frieze ornamentation. During the summer the grammar school students' residence in the courtyard is home to an international artists' workshop, based around the legacy and life work of Gyula Rudnay. The 'Girl with a jug' statue in front of the chapel is a memorial to Makó's first artesian well.
