350 ft. long x 55 ft. high concrete hydroelectric dam on the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Dells, designed by Daniel W. Mead and constructed between December 1906 and August 1909 by the Southern Wisconsin Power Company, led by Magnus Swenson of Madison and Bates & Rogers Construction of Chicago. It was the largest dam west of Niagara Falls at the time of completion. The cost of building the dam was about $2.4 million (roughly $75 million in today's money). It was named for its location of in the city of Kilbourn (or Kilbourn City) which changed its name to Wisconsin Dells in 1931. It is currently owned and operated by Alliant Energy.

The dam is also commonly referred as the Wisconsin Dells Dam, it divides the Dells of the Wisconsin River into the Upper Dells and Lower Dells, obstructing river navigation between the two areas. The dam also raised the water level in the Upper Dells by around 17 feet (5.2m), flooding popular caves and rock formations. For this reason, landscape photographer H.H. Bennett vocally opposed the dam's construction. Supporters of the dam have pointed to its benefits in generating renewable energy and maintaining an elevated water level for recreational boating.
