Plymouth is the largest city in Devon and is located at the estuaries of the river Tamar and Plym. It has a long history as being a major port town.
It has a population of over 241,000.
It is famous for The Citadel, the Barbican and the royal navy base at Devonport along with a large university. It is also where the Pilgrims set sail for America on The Mayflower to a place in Massachusetts which they named Plymouth.
It is the birthplace of Bob Weston, guitarist briefly in the early 70's of Fleetwood Mac.
