This is the Historical Village (Kampung Rugading). 400 Hundred years ago, Rugading was part of the old trading centre of Mengkabong, who has fought the Spaniards and Sulu invasion.
Trading was done between Manila, Sulu, China, Brunei, Singapore and the Malay States
There were so many wars that have happened here since 400 years ago. The Telipok River along Rugading was an authentic of old Mengkabong Administration Centre whos administrate by the Sharif and Pengeran(of Brunei royal). Forts were built along the river up to the Mengkabong Bay to guard against intrusion from enemies mostly coming from the sea.
