This has been the headquarters of the Acme supermarket chain since 1988, when it moved out of the "11-story building at 15th and Cherry [Street]" in Philadelphia. Since then, it has remained here, and exchanged several change of hands. In 1999, the then-parent company of Acme, American Stores (formerly Skaggs Drug Companies) was bought by Albertsons Incorporated, but despite the drama & cutbacks in the years following, Acme would maintain their offices here. To make a long story short, Acme became a part of SuperValu from 2006-2013 following the breakup of Albertsons, and today is back as part of the combined Safeway/Albertsons "Albertsons Companies".
