This is one of the most famous Dattatreya Mandir on Krishna River and is considered very holy place of worship indeed. The second avatar of Shri Dattatreya, Shri Narasimha Saraswati spent some time here and made this place very holy. This temple has his foot marks (Paduka) and is worshipped everyday here regularly by millions of devotees. The river Krishna flows right infront of the mandir and during floods/rainy season the water rises above the temple and the temple is shut for few months. It is said that the Padukas never get dirty after the flood is over and river water level becomes normal.
