The Poblacion of Tangub City is composed of 7 barangays: Brgy. I (City Hall), Brgy. II (Marilou Annex), Brgy. III (Market Calubian), Brgy. IV (St. Michael), Brgy., V (Malubog), Brgy. VI (Lower Polao), and Brgy. VII (Upper Polao).

Tangub City is a 3rd class city in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 49,695 people in 9,480 households. It is known as the Christmas Capital of Mindanao for its display of the holiday's famous symbols.
