This Shoppers Food Warehouse, as it is known as, opened in the mid 1980s. It originally was a Woolco location which closed in the early 1980s. In the late 1990s, the Drug Emporium next door closed down, and Shoppers Food Warehouse eventually expanded the store to take the full footprint of the original Woolco store. An interesting tidbit: In the 1990s, when the store seemed to be busy, the lighted sign on the face of the store would only read "Shop Food War"
