This was part of Kmart store number 7282, that opened up in the early 1980s. In the early 1990s it was renovated into a "Big Kmart" store, due to competition from Caldor across MD 5 in the Woodyard Crossing Shopping Center. Next in 2005, with the merger of Kmart and Sears, this location became a Sears Essentials store. Then in 2011, This store returned to being a Kmart, before closed and subdivided.
