A trail goes south from Shark Cove Beach here to Lost Pond --one of the only freshwater swimming holes. Reach the beach of Shark Cove by parking at the power plant and walking/wading northward along the ocean shore during low tide. High tide and/or storm tide shore walking is too dangerous --people have drowned. Access from the wild woods to the east is dangerous.

Original text:
Lost Pond is a swimming hole that, if you can stand the bugs, is a fun and enjoyable hike from Tanguisson Beach. But beware, you might want to enjoy the waters off the beach area. If the surf is low (2-3ft) and it is low tide, it should be safe. Any other conditions and you may become another statistic. More people have drowned there because they were too confident.
