Cavallo Point's Farley Bar is named in honor of the late Phil Frank, the beloved cartoonist and local resident. Farley is Frank's best-known comic strip, which ran in the San Francisco Chronicle for 32 years. Based in San Francisco, the comic strip's central character was Farley, a newspaper reporter and sometime park ranger, said to be Frank's alter ego.
