The pass was closed in 1962 and reopened in 1993 (only for Indian traders). The BRO built a road in 2006 to a point before the pass. To the pass itself now a road is leading, before it was only a mule track. On the border a Checkpost is established (Police and Customs Department). Trading is very poor, in 2006 only 18 Indian traders applied for passes to cross the border. Due to the weather the pass is closed for 7 months every year.

  • Can some body pass here with their passports?. Does it require visa? What are the transportation from there to sahshradhara?
  • As I told, only Indian traders. The pass was opened only for trading, among others.
