This was a leading thikana of Bidawat Rathores (Manohardasot Clan). Raja Jeevraj Singh (asc. 1923) was decorated with CBEby British. He renovated the Sandwa Fort.
Sandwa was attacked by dacoit Bhanwar singh and Thakur guman singh fought with them and honoured with a gun by CM Tikaram Paliwal.
