KWA JICA PROJECT, KOZHIKODE - Intake and 174 mld Water Treatment Plant

This place is the location of the Intake Structures and Water Treatment Plant of JICA (erstwhile JBIC) Project to Kozhikode City and adjoining Panchayaths. The capacity of the WTP is 174 mld. The scheme is designed to cater 12.08 lakhs people in Kozhikode Corporation area and nearby 13 panchayaths viz, Balussery, Nanminda, Narikkuni, Kakkur, Chelannur, Kakkodi, Thalakulathur, Kuruvattur, Kunnamangalam, Peruvayal, Perumanna, Olavanna & Kadalundy. The length of the transmission main comes 123 km, the length of the distribution network comes arount 1450 kms. Apart from the existing 3 reservoirs at Kozhikode city, 20 reservoirs with total capacity 850 lakhs litres are constructed to cater the scheme area.
