Kurubarapalli

Town near Pollupalli and the upcoming Industrial Estate SIDCO on NH7. Very fertile area and it is primarily an agrarian economy. Population is 617. This is the birthplace of C. Govindan, national award winner for his story of courage and gallantry. He jumped on to a road in front of a speeding truck to save a blind old beggar. This is the site of MP Primary School and a Panchayat Union Primary School. Crescent Educational Society is also headquartered here as part of the Periyar Institute of Distance Education and has been recently expanded at the cost of 15 lakhs. EG Sugavanam, MP for the region recently inaugurated a state of the art primary health center to serve the residents. The town is a major site for silk production and the "Basic Seed Farm, National Silkworm Seed Organization" is headquartered here. The town is governed by a Panchayat system.
