This home, now a museum, was built by the first mayor of Salinas in 1868 from redwood planks dragged from Moss Landing on the coast. It was moved to this location (Intermodal Transportation Center) in 1999 from its longtime place on East Romie Lane. The house and surrounding gardens now serve as an educational study center.
