Erbdrostenhof (Münster)

Germany / Nordrhein-Westfalen / Munster / Münster / Salzstraße, 38
museum, interesting place, listed building / architectural heritage

Together with St Clement’s and the Dominican Church, the Erbdrostenhof – Architect Johann Conrad Schlaun’s masterpiece, built between 1753 and 1757 – forms the socalled “Baroque island” in the middle of the city. Unusually, Münster’s finest aristocratic residence stands diagonally on a rectangular site. Today it is the seat of the State Curator of Westphalia. Visits are only possible on official occasions. www.muenster.de/stadt/tourismus/pdf/stadtfuehrer2012_gb...
