Together with St Clement’s and the Dominican Church, the Erbdrostenhof – Architect Johann Conrad Schlaun’s masterpiece, built between 1753 and 1757 – forms the socalled “Baroque island” in the middle of the city. Unusually, Münster’s finest aristocratic residence stands diagonally on a rectangular site. Today it is the seat of the State Curator of Westphalia.
