Established in 1931 by Green Giant as Fine Foods of Canada to can corn and other vegetables, the plant was operated by Pillsbury Green Giant until 1993 when it was acquired by John Omstead`s Family Tradition Foods. Later sold to Carriere, the plant and seven other Canadian canned and vegetable plants were purchased by Bonduelle in 2007. Founded in France in 1853, Bonduelle is the world`s largest processor of canned and frozen foods and produces products for private labels and under its own Arctic Gardens brand.
