  I heard about Manihara a lot from Sasanka Mukerjee who had grown up in Manihara but lived in Senera. Manihara is a prosperous village close to Purulia Bankura border. The most important story I heard from him was that the son of Kashipur Maharja was kept hidden by an important employee of the Maharaja in this village during the confusion caused by the Maratha attack. Later, for this reason the maharaja rewarded this employee quite well with money and royal titles.
