Gulfport is a city in southern Pinellas County, in the US state of Florida, where it sits along Boca Ciega Bay. A suburb of St. Petersburg, Gulfport is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Incorporated in 1864, the city has had several names over the decades, such as Disston City, Bonifacio, and Veteran City, but arrived at their present name in 1910.

Home to a high concentration of artists, Gulfport enjoys a thriving arts and culinary scene based in the city's waterfront district. Gulfport is home to the Gulfport Casino, a 5,000 sqare foot, 1930's ballroom that still hosts events five nights a week. Additionally, Stetson University's College of Law is based in Gulfport.

The population of Gulfport was 12,527 at the 2000 census.

Gulfport's total area is 3.8 sq mi (9.9 km2), of which 1 sq mi (2.6 km2) is water.
