Seattle Preparatory School, popularly known as Seattle Prep is a private Jesuit high school located on Capitol Hill, in Seattle. It is operated independent of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle. It was founded in 1891 and has maintained a long history of academic excellence. The school regularly sends many of its students to Ivy League and 'Highly-Selective' universities every year. Seattle Prep incorporates the Jesuit motto of "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" which means, literally, "For the Greater Glory of God." In addition, the school also has its own motto: "Virtus in Arduis". Seattle Prep's long history, excellent academics, and strong athletics are all very well regarded.
