Steam and diesel locomotives were manufactured here.
Lima was famous for their shay and superpowered locomotives, and were makers of some of the most beautiful, such as the Berkshire and the Southern Pacific Daylight, of which one was used as the 1975-1976 Bicentennial American Freedom train that toured the 48 contiguous United States. A real testiment to the inginuity and skill of the people of Ohio.
