Majority of the Passenger and Express trains originate from this railway station. Some of these trains travel to Interior Sindh areas - but most of them go all the way to Peshawar, through Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The present building of Karachi Cantt station has been declared a protected heritage site by the Government of Sindh.
