Founded in 1931 by Shri Rai Bahadur Gujarmal Modi & named after him ; he was a renowned industrialist and philanthropist, who co-established the Modi Group of companies and the industrial city of Modinagar in 1933, A sugar mill in Modinagar marked the beginning of the Modi Group conglomerate, which later diversified into varied fields; established schools and colleges in Modinagar; contributed a lot in the field of higher education; awarded the Padma Bhushan by Government of India in 1968 (Prior to its renaming in 1945, Modinagar was known as Begumabad.)

Modinagar is located between Ghaziabad and Meerut. It is about 40 km. in North direction (National Highway 58) from Delhi. It has the easy approach by bus and train. The Bus stand and Railway station are located closely. You can find 24 hours bus service for Modinagar from Delhi or Meerut. Modinagar is about 45 Km. from Capital of Nation (India). It has been and continues to be an important industrial and educational center. Numerous institutions of higher learning are located here.

  • Hariom (a mantra to wish).. This is Abhishek Maitrey, an IT professional, from Modinagar(U.P), a town of industries and education centres, located between Ghaziabad and Meerut. Unfortunately most of the industries are no longer running but the standard of living is good.
  • Modinagar has already been converted into educational hub and this small city has given its superb contribution to the nation several times. Some national players, Out of Top Industrialist of past time, some patriots, etc. have been the diamonds of the city. I can not list all the contributors with my small intro. Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple, on National Highway 58, is well known across surrounding cities and known as legend of the city for more than 50 years. Beware of the mass traffic. :( . Though the city is situated on NH 58 and close to Delhi, it's obvious. The city usually has several spiritual and cultural activities. The city has also been welcoming of the great Saints, the great politicians, the bollywood stars and national team playes for many years.
