Addis Ababa University (AAU) main campus was established on March 20, 1950. Located in a village known as Sidist Kilo, Entoto district. The campus was originally named Addis Ababa University College. It was renamed Haile Selassie I University in 1962, and then Addis Ababa University during the revolution, 1975.
