Owned and run as a sugar Estate from the 1660's by the last of the great plantation families , the Kerr - Jarrett's. Recently the plantation under the leadership of Mark Kerr-Jarrett, has been rezoned from agriculture to industrial and residential use. The last remaining 3000 acres has been reduced with the various Bogue developments including the Bogue village to only 1500 acres , held in trust for the orderly expansion of Montego Bay. The original estate once occupied most of modern day Montego Bay and had 50,000 acres.
