This was the seat of local chieftins known as Shankargallu Nayaks or Palegars bnelong to Harati Family ruled between 1600 and 1800 A.D. Recenty i have discovered or found old document of 1870 mentions about the lineage and details of the family. For details contact Dr. Kavalamma Lecturer in History, Govt.
