Issur is the birthplace of K.S.Shivrudhrappa, an eminent Kannada poet. The fertail land and it's green surroundings are a sight to see during the rainy season.

Not sure what it means, but the people of this place claim that they declared independence from the British rule much before India got independence on 15th August 1947.
