Hautecombe Abbey

Built in the XIIth century, nested on the western bank of the Lake Bourget, the building shelters the necropolis of Princes de Savoie. Of Gothic architecture, the inside of the abbey church offers a profusion of paintings, bas-reliefs, frescoes and statues of which magnificent Pietà de Benoît Cacciatori (1830). From the monks in 1992, the archbishop of Chambéry will suggest to the community of Chemin-Neuf pursuing the vocation of prayer and reception of the Abbey and watching the maintenance and the restoration of the monument.
Visit of the church every day except Tuesday.
