The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception was established in 1836, making it the oldest place of worship in Fort Wayne. It is the primary cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, headed by Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades. Added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 23, 1980, the present Golthic-style structure was constructed in 1860.
