This theatre has five performance areas and is the main venue for the world famous International Opera Festival of Miskolc. It has a unique past and potential.
The most notable fact of the National Theatre of Miskolc is that it is the successor to the first permanent, or so-called 'stone', theatre within the current Hungary. The first 'stone' theatre was built in 1823.

  • В 1955-56 годах, после окончания Театральной академии, в труппе национального театра в Мишкольце состоял Аттила Надь, будущий известный театральный режиссер, актер театра и кино. У входа в театр благодарными потомками установлен памятный бюст. Служил также в театрах Веспрема, Сегеда, Кечкемета, 18 лет - в будапештской "Талии". (12.02.1933, Пацин, медье Боршод-Абайуй-Земплен - 13.05.1992, Будапешт).
