A landfill for northern Broward County, opening in 1976. At 225 feet high, it is possibly the highest point in Broward County, since it has almost no natural variation in elevation. It is slated to be closed by the county in the around the year 2025, when it is predicted to be full, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Dubbed "Mount Trashmore" by the locals. Until the late 1980s, there used to be a “U-pick” farm just south adjacent to the trash mountain. It was also featured in the first episode of the CBS television show "Undercover Boss".
